E. Jakarta Satpol PP Deploys 755 Personnel to Secure Christmas Celebration

As many as 755 personnel of The East Jakarta Satpol PP are ready to secure the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations. They will be joined by elements of the army (TNI) and police.

East Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Budhy Novian said the 755 personnel were divided into two shifts. The first shift was at night until Christmas celebration on December 24 to 25 and the second shift was at New Year's Eve on December 31, 2023 to January 1, 2024.

"Our personnel were assigned to guard 148 churches spread across 10 sub-districts, the night of the Christmas Mass, and the following day of the Christmas celebration. They were joined by elements of the TNI, police, Transportation Sub-agency, Pramuka, Scouts, Orari, FKDM, and other elements," he expressed, Thursday (12/21).

Of 148 churches, seven of them were on the security priority scale. Each of them was St Joseph's Church on Jalan Matraman Raya, St Antonius Padua Catholic Church on Jalan Otista Raya, GPIB Koinonia Church on Jalan Matraman, Jatinegara.

Then Saint Gabriel Catholic Church, Pulogebang, Cakung, Santa Anna Catholic Church, Duren Sawit, HKBP Rawamangun Church on Jalan Balai Pustaka, and Jakarta Javanese Christian Church on Jalan Balai Pustaka, Rawamangun.

"We will do extra security, because the consideration is that the congregation worshiping in these churches is many," he furthered.

Besides assisting with church security, from December 22 to January 2, personnel would be assigned to make security for Operation Lilin 2023. They would be spread to integrated security posts in 10 sub-districts.

"Our main focus is at vital objects and busy points," he expressed.

Locations for the Operation Lilin 2023 included the area in front of Jatinegara Station, Pulogebang Integrated Terminal, and Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal.

Then at the border location of the buffer area. That is in front of the PT Panasonic Gobel factory on Jalan Raya Bogor, Pekayon Urban Village, Pasar Rebo and at the intersection of Jalan Laksamana Malahayati - Jalan H. Naman, Pondok Kelapa, Duren Sawit.

Then on Jalan Raya Pemuda, in front of Arion Rawamangun Mall and so forth.
